2019 Catnip Viognier
$30.00
Viognier is a terrific white variety. It produces wines with more luscious texture, especially with a little bottle age, but is also fresh, fruity and zesty when young. This wine is completely un-oaked and was bottled as soon as possible after vintage to capture its youthful fruits and delicate aromatics.

"Unmistakeable stonefruit meets citrus profile, quince and a mere touch of honeyed nuance adding further. I thought there was a touch of wood on show, yet it's all stainless and any flesh and spice is from variety and winemaker's hand alone. Textural, spiced flourishes and bearing some pickled ginger - hallmark of a good Viognier. Bang on, well made. 92 POINTS" Stuart Robinson 'The Vinsomniac'
"This is varietally expressive and fragrant on the nose showing green rockmelon, lemon peel, nectarine and floral aromas, followed by a finely textured palate that is juicy and vibrant. The wine offers pristine fruit flavours together with bright acidity, finishing long and elegantly crisp. At its best: now to 2022." 92 POINTS, Sam Kim Wine Orbit
‘There’s plenty of fruit here to amuse - apricots and yellow peaches plus scents of limes and white flowers. It skips through the mouth with some vibrance and is not weighed down which some Viogniers can be. Fine cinnamon and ginger spices cling on to a long and most enjoyable finish. A great drink and a great buy.’ 90 POINTS QWINE Steve Leszczynski
“Youthful and primary aromatics of apricot and peach with some vanillin tones on the nose. A supple and layered palate that showcases precise apricot fruit, but holds a citrus thread and savouriness that keeps the wine balanced. There is enjoyable length to finish with enough acid and texture to keep you coming back. A leaner style of Viognier that maintains impact.” 90 POINTS Patrick Eckel October 2019
